A Tradition of Excellence
In 1913, Bert R. Huncilman started his company as a tin shop and was later joined by his son, Roger Huncilman. From 1913
to today, Bert R. Huncilman & Son, Inc. has been continuously operated by four generations of Huncilmans. Lynn Huncilman,
Bert's grandson, joined the team in 1956. Lynn's sons, Gordon and Jeff, joined the firm in 1978 and 1980 respectively.
Between 1958 and 1974, an important segment of business included UL listed, Class A all-fuel chimneys for the prefabricated
home market. Lynn Huncilman saw a shift within the manufacturing community and redirected Huncilman's manufacturing by
stressing heavier metal fabricating equipment.
Physically, Bert R. Huncilman & Son started in a large garage which still stands today across the street from New Albany High
School. A new facility was started in the late 40's, which is now the current site of Plant 1 and the administrative offices.
This facility has been expanded and modified throughout the years to its' current size of 35,000 square feet. With the ground
breaking on April 29th, 1996 in the Grantline Road Industrial Park, the largest expansion for Bert R. Huncilman & Son, an
expansive 73,000 square foot facility was added. Plant 2 houses the forming, welding and finishing operations as well as
our monorail E-coat paint system.
In addition to modernization of its' physical plants, Bert R. Huncilman & Son, Inc., has continually expanded its' technology
base in equipment. Today, the company produces product through the use of lasers, CNC press brakes, robotic welding,
automated finishing and E-coat painting. The company controls material and customer communication through the use of
sophisticated computer systems utilizing the most modern of manufacturing software.
Today, Bert R. Huncilman & Son, Inc. is an acknowledged leader in the metal fabrication industry.
